Introducing our new Director for Music Ministry

Picture
We are excited to welcome Julie Riemer to the staff at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church! Julie is from Osceola, WI and brings with her experience and gifts in both traditional and contemporary styles of music. She is a talented pianist and organizer of musicians. (She will be taking lessons to enhance her organ skills in her first few months of employment). Julie has served as the accompanist for the now merged congregations of Milltown Lutheran and Fristad Lutheran churches in Wisconsin, as well as Peace Lutheran Church in Dresser. She has led adult and children’s choirs, organized special ensembles, and is passionate about the communal experience of music within worship.

In her words…
What is the role of music in the church? Music leads us to feel the spirit of Christ. It elicits joy, contemplation, sympathy, and energy all in the worship of God. It helps us understand and support the message of the day, and provides comfort and enthusiasm during the service. My goal has always been to bring this spirit to the congregation as a service for them and for God.

In her ‘day job’ Julie runs her own business as a financial advisor with LPL Financial. She has been active in the River Valley Swim Club, Chisago and Festival Theatre, St Croix Falls. She and her husband have two grown children.

We welcome Julie to our church family and look forward to the ways God will use her gifts to grow the music ministry at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church!
