After much prayer, conversation, and attention to the needs of our community during the current Covid-19 pandemic, we have decided to temporarily suspend all in-person worship and public activities at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church. Find more information below - including congregational letters, video updates, and other pieces of information.
To participate in Sunday and Wednesday worship services, watch on our website here or on our Facebook page here.
We appreciate your generosity during this time, as our ministry takes a different shape. The best ways to do this are to mail a check to the church, have your bank send a check, or give sign up for regular, electronic giving here.
Online Giving Challenge
Our goal is to have 20 new individuals/families sign up for regular online giving by Sunday, April 5th. Everyone who signs up gets their name in a hat for a $50 gift card to one of our fantastic local restaurants – The Northern, The Grumpy Minnow, or Eichten’s Market & Grill. This is a great way to support your church and our friends in the business community who need our help. We will do the drawing before worship on April 5th. Click here to sign up today!
Help with “Senior Companions”
Can you help us stay in touch with our seniors? Call, send a card, offer to pick up groceries or prescriptions? Kids, wanna color a picture? Be a friendly voice?
We have over 120 members who are 70 years or older, and many more who are considered at risk right now. Several of these members do not have the technology needed to participate in our mostly online ministry. We are looking for younger folks who can be companions to these seniors. If you’re able, please send a note to Pastor Taryn (text also works – 651.508.0277). This is a great opportunity for individuals, a whole family, or high schoolers with a little extra time on their hands.
Zoom Spiritual Practices Course
Pastor Taryn is leading an online Spiritual Practices Course using ChurchNext’s “Prayer and Worship in Our Homes”. It was designed especially for this Covid time and people around the world are participating. You can take the course on your own time. It includes some reflective questions and videos. Our CLLC group will gather via Zoom video conferencing on Mondays at 8:30pm. If interested, let Pastor Taryn know so she can send you the Zoom link. Click here to start the course today. Please complete “Everyday Spiritual Practices” for Monday, March 23rd. Join us!
Parking Lot Food Drive – March 24th
There are many in our community who have food and financial needs right now. Drop off any food items on Tuesday, March 24th from 9-11am in the Upper Parking lot and we will deliver them to the food pantry for you. They are especially in need of soup, complete meals (i.e. mac ‘n cheese), crackers, and cereal.
The sanctuary will also be open for individual prayer. You can drop off your offering if you’d like and pick up an LBW hymnal (the old green one) for your prayer and worship life at home. It’s yours to keep!
Snippets with Stacy
Each Thursday Stacy Johnson will post a “Snippets with Stacy” video on our Facebook page and website. These will focus on the upcoming gospel lesson for Sunday. It will be fun, educational, and maybe a little crazy! You won’t want to miss it.
Periodically, Julie Riemer will post Music Meditations on Facebook. These are intended to be “spiritual breaks” for you. The kids driving you crazy? Need to step away from the news? Enjoy these peaceful interludes.
