We are seeking a Half-time Director of Church Music!
.Located 45 minutes from both downtown St. Paul and Minneapolis and within the Chisago Lakes School District, Chisago Lake Lutheran Church represents the oldest group of continuously worshipping Lutherans and the second oldest Lutheran congregation in the state of Minnesota. We are also one of the fastest growing churches in our area doubling our weekly worship attendance in just the last three years. We feature a mix of traditional and next generation music styles, host two weekly services, and are blessed with a huge pipe organ with 39 ranks, 21 stops, 2,025 pipes, and electronic controls; two grand pianos; an outstanding children’s choir; an adult chime choir, and a number of former collegiate vocalists and musicians in our midst who are eager to resurrect our adult choir and provide regular special music. In addition to our unique history as the Church where the movie, Grumpy Old Men was filmed, we often host large domestic choirs and ensembles as well as international choirs touring the United States.
Besides serving as our primary keyboard accompanist for our weekly worship services, overseeing and accompanying our various choirs, and directing our overall music program, the person who ultimately serves in this role will also provide primary music coverage for all weddings and funerals that take place here, as well as have the opportunity to conduct instrumental and/or vocal lessons on site as an additional source of income.
