Our Relay for Life Event will be held outside our church on Wednesday, August 18th, 2021 from 6-10pm.

Message from Jerry Vitalis

I would like to give you some history of the Chisago County Relay for Life Team. I got involved in 2001 when I became a cancer survivor. Last Spring I was contacted by the team that there would be no Relay for Life event for 2020. Contacting the team I reminded them of the strong support our church has for the Relay so I contacted Pastor Taryn and we planned a Relay of our own. We planned a drive by event with the luminaries on the wall of County Road 37. Next the team got involved and we sold 600 some luminaries.

I’m not bragging but I sold exactly 500 of them due to the support of our members. Some members gave me $100 or more to be used for extra luminaries, one member gives me $300 every year. Some bought luminaries and gave extra money, etc. We have so many needy people in our community that if it were not for you, they would not be recognized and remembered.

One thing I do is keep good records of past years. I will be contacting you or you can contact me. The luminaries are $10 each and be sure that you indicate if it is in memory or in honor of someone. I will update each week. The event will be on Wednesday, August 18th. My phone number is 651-257-4496 and address is Jerry Vitalis 29835 St. Croix Trl., Shafer, MN 55076. Thank you for your continued support!
